As the world watched, Hurricane Sandy struck and destroyed lives and property on the East Coast of the U.S. Homes as well as the infrastructures were flooded and devastated. Estimates for the repairs has spiraled into the billions but there is not price that can be placed on the personal loss of so many. People were forced to return to survival mode, seeking the basics of food and shelter. The timing of the storm couldn’t have been worse, as the cold winter weather seeped into the lives of those that had no power to keep themselves warm. In the middle of the chaos and suffering, the human spirit rose the occasion. Companies, organizations and every day citizens reached out to help and lift up those in need.
