Fracking is the drilling of natural gas using a method called hydraulic fracturing. In essence, it pumps large quantities of water into the rock and shale areas that hold natural gas, causing a fracturing process to release the gas. The process has been heralded by some and caused horror for others. Areas that have had extensive fracking have also experienced environmental problems. Mayer Bloomberg is now promoting the concept of fracking, but under strict environmental guidelines.
