There is a war going on in the State of New York and it’s all about ‘fracking’. Both sides of the discussion are sinking a lot of money into advertising in an attempt to educate the public on their side and potentially gain a win (or lose) for the natural gas industry.

Fracking is a term that refers to the use of hydraulic fracturing in the rock and shale beneath the earth that contains natural gas. Those communities that have had fracking in their area have experienced many environmental problems due to the sand, chemicals and water that are infused into the earth and this has led to a major debate as to the overall safety.

New York has many areas that have deeply embedded natural gas resources, so it makes sense that the natural gas companies want to enlist as many as they can to tap into those resources. Opponents are indicating in their ad campaigns that there is no safe fracking.
