A balance must be reached between the economy and the ecology, because both of these are critical for the future. It does not do any good to have a world that does not face an environmental crisis if the economy is so bad that most of mankind can not survive and starves because of a lack of money and employment opportunities. On the other hand, what good is a world where there is no economic crisis going on if the entire planet is ruined in the process. It is important to try and balance these needs. In the ecological crisis vs the economical crisis equation, there are no winners unless we change the way we look at both problems. We need to start using alternative and renewable energy sources and stop relying on fossil fuels, while at the same time working on improving the conditions of the economy. Future generations deserve an earth that is in good shape, with no earth pollution and damage. Just because there is an economical crisis does not relieve us of our responsibility to fix the ecological crisis that mankind has created over the past couple hundred years.
