There is a whole new shift in the concept of the construction of our city skyscape and everyone is talking about replacing concrete with wood skyscrapers.

At first glance of this topic, one might balk with a line of objections in considering wood vs concrete. However, it you think about the energy consumption needed to produce non-environmentally friendly concrete, you might agree that an alternative building source is needed.

The shift to wood may also not seem to be the best choice as you envision cutting down the world’s forests, however, architects and investors around the globe are now talking about using sustainable and managed forests for this purpose. Wood will lock in the CO2 for the structure’s life cycle, while concrete actually produces 6-9 kilos of carbon dioxide for every 10 kilos that it makes.
