From all indications, it appears that the boom in the U.S. energy industry will continue, no matter which political party enters or stays in the White House.

The topic of energy is not a very kind one, as Americans are being increasingly hit with higher costs. Politicians already know that our energy boom in oil and natural gas has been caused by higher prices, and addressing the boom in energy development eventually leads to the conversation that Americans want clean, sustainable, renewable energy at cheap costs.

The direction of the boom itself may depend on politics. Democrats have a distinct focus on sustainable and renewable energy. Whereas, the conservatives seem to want to promote existing oil and gas companies and research within U.S. soil. Ultimately, the citizens will make the choice, but the effect will definitely be long term in a positive or negative direction.
