This is an excellent video summary from ABC News on Superstorm Sandy as the storm hit. Covering over one thousand miles, Sandy dumped so much rain, that it isn’t seen except once per century. While the U.S. has experienced hurricanes in the past, they are usually in areas that we expect, such as Florida and the subtropical state coasts.
The East Coast of the U.S. is not set up nor prepared for the high winds or flooding. As millions lost power, the record water surges combined with colder weather to encompass and destroy lives and property.
