Drought around the country in the United States carries more than just major problems with local farmers and an increase in prices at the grocery stores. While these situations alone can be devastating, a drought in America effects the entire world.

The United States is the bread basket for many of the nations and a lack of food production can mean starvation on a global scale. The fact that many have been forced to sell their cattle, due to lack of food to give their livestock, brings other non-grown food items into play and prices increase again.

The drought also affects industries outside the ‘food chain’ including cotton; thereby causing a domino collision when it comes to companies that use naturally grown items for other product production.
