The reduction of the Atlantic Forest area has had a devastating effect on the local species, many of which have had their habitats reduced to the point where they cannot survive. Researchers and ecologists around the globe are expressing great concern that hundreds of species may become extinct if immediate action is not taken. Animals and species are disappearing at an alarming rate and even though there is a lot of money being invested in the study to offer suggestions to resolve the problem, it just doesn’t seem to be keeping up with the pending destruction itself.
