Renewable energy certificates, or RECs, are also referred to as green tags and are tradable U.S. environmental commodities that show one mega-watt hour of electricity was created or generated from one of the accepted renewable energy resources. These producers of energy and power benefit the environment by producing clean power that is easy on the environment.
